  1. Dawn

    Travertine

    Turned from one block of Tivoli travertine, the pits left open. A low, cool light picks out the grain across the top face.

  2. Noon

    Brass

    A brushed brass collar holds the lamp and hides the fitting. Under a hard overhead light the metal shows every mark of the hand.

  3. Tungsten

    Glass

    A smoked glass dome over a 2700 K filament. When the room goes dark the glass warms and the lamp is the only light left.
